How To Get Permanent Residency In Canada Within 6-8 Months

Many of my clients have been asking me this question on how to get permanent residency in Canada within 6-8 months. There are no shortcuts to apply or fast-forward your Permanent Residency processing time.

However, there are a few things you can do from your side to reduce the total time required from the time you apply for Language Test [IELTS] till you finally apply for Permanent Residency if you receive Invitation to Apply.

How To Get Permanent Residency In Canada Within 6-8 Months

Read through the steps below:

  1. You can book an examination date for IELTS and apply for Education Credential Assessment at the same time. IELTS application to result from time can be between 1 to 3 months. Meanwhile, you can get your education credentials verified. Getting the transcripts from institution/university is the time you can reduce here. If you do these two steps one after the other then depending on the time university or education institution and your preparation time for IELTS it would take anywhere from 4 to 6 months and sometimes more. A parallel process will reduce the time here.
  2. You can directly apply for Federal Skilled Workers and if you have enough Comprehensive Ranking System score, instead of going through Provincial Nominee Programs. This would reduce total time drastically.
  3. IRCC timeline from Invitation to apply to an application is currently 90 days, i.e., IRCC should receive all the required documents within the 90 days time period. However, you can keep police verification/s, references from all the employers and proof of funds etc. ready so that Invitation to apply to your application days can be reduced to a minimal.

These major three things are under your control and can reduce the total processing time.

Points that are not under your control are:

  • IELTS result in publication time.
  • Educational Credential Assessments Processing time.
  • Receiving Invitation to apply after applying for Express Entry your CRS score will define if you are going to get Invitation to apply.
  • Getting confirmation of Permanent Residency after applying for it.
